NHAG
Student After-School Art Program
There is one thing we know for certain, students who are serious about art are not getting enough time in the classroom. NHAG directors have spoken to regional middle & highschool guidance counselors who have reported that middle schoolers on average only have an hour of art per week. Shockingly, high schoolers could be without an art elective entirely if their required academic credits interfere with art classes.
This is a tragedy for students who are interested in pursuing a career in art which requires time to build skills, learn advanced foundations and practice. Designing a quality portfolio and participating in extra-curricular arts based programs could be the difference between “full-cost tuition or a full-ride”.
The NHAG “Art After” program is designed for students who are serious about art and want to build real-life skills.
Students are grouped by age - wave 1 (college prep, ages 15-18) session is Tuesdays & Thursdays from 2:45-3:45 (seniors who are able to leave early may arrive at 1:30). wave 2 (ages 11-14) (1hr) 3:45-4:45.
